Live up to your Resolutions & Vision Board Aspirations in 2014

15 Jan

On yesterday January 14, 2013 I decided to leave the office for lunch instead of sitting in my cubicle pretending that I am having lunch when in reality I am still working. I was in the mood for Shrimp and Grits so I decided to come to Broad Way Diner located in Fayetteville, GA. It’s a great spot for me to escape the day’s hustle and bustle of the corporate world. I celebrated my 38th Birthday on this past Saturday and a few of my aspirations are to expand my business, continue on my blogging journey, travel to at least five new places in the world, take my kids to at least three states that they have never visited and enlarge my territory. I was sitting in my cubicle today and I realized that may of the people that I work with will never live their true dreams, never reach for anything other than what they can see in front of them, never truly experience life because of fear or aspire for better. Why? I have learned in my experience that just as the saying goes “A closed mouth will never get feed”. I encounter countless individuals daily that have million dollar ideas but penny ambition to work hard to see their dreams come to fruition. I thank God daily for creating me a “fearless woman”. Its 2014 and I’m sure New Year resolutions have been made and vision boards created but my question to you is what have you done up to today that has put you one step closer to your dreams/goals? You’re vision board is compiled of many things that you hope to accomplish in 2014 but what have you done to drive the process. You have to put in the work. Have you put in the work? One must not sit around and expect for a successful business, new car or home, new position at work or that much deserved raise to fall in your lap. Life just doesn’t work that way. YOU HAVE TO PUT IN THE WORK!

Here are Naturalbabydol’s Tips to pursuing your 2014 Goals:

1.            Create your vision board or purchase a journal and make it your vision or dream journal. (I do both so that I have a board at home and a journal that I can have readily in my purse)

2.            Once your aspirations, goals and dreams are written then re-write them individually on post its. (I prefer the long ones so I can write more)

3.            Take the post it notes and stick them in the places you are the most in your house (Bedroom mirror or window, refrigerator, cupboards, doors, laundry room. OK you get the idea! I also stick them in my cubicle at work)

4.            Break down your goals in dreams. Prioritize them so that you can get a better understanding of which ones are easier to meet than the others.

5.            Conduct research. Find a mentor. Arm yourself with like-minded individuals.

6.            NOW THE FUN BEGINS. YOU HAVE TO PUT IN THE WORK!

One aspiration that I wrote in my vision board was to be able to serve on a blogging team for 2014. Although I am fairly new to the blogging world in my mind there are no limitations. I may not be ranked among the top sought after bloggers but who says that I can’t accomplish what I desire to in the blogging world. I wrote the vision and made a plan, and then I started to contact various conferences. Why? Because I will never be afforded the opportunity if I don’t sell myself and distinguish what sets me apart from others. I have the opportunity to tell to the world who I am, what I can bring to the table and how I can build a brand. Because of my aggressiveness I have been selected to work on two blogging teams so far. How’s that for putting in the work? This was just one of many goals written in my vision book and one more entry that I can mark off as complete. I challenge everyone to write the vision, make a plan and PUT IN THE WORK!
